If dragging doesn't work (common on mobile or some browsers): Right-click the button, select "Copy Link Address", then manually create a new bookmark in your bookmarks bar and paste the copied URL as the bookmark's address.
The bookmarklet doesn't change the favicon
Some sites use Content Security Policy (CSP) headers that block external resources. If clicking the bookmarklet does nothing, the site is likely blocking it. Try on a different website. Also make sure your browser allows JavaScript bookmarklets (most do by default).
Is this permanent?
No. The bookmarklet only changes the favicon in your current browser tab, and the change is lost when you refresh or navigate away. It does not modify the website's actual code. To permanently use an emoji favicon, add the <link> tag to your site's HTML. See our Presets page for ready-to-paste options.
Does this work on mobile?
Mobile browsers don't support traditional bookmarklets. The bookmarklet works on desktop browsers: Chrome, Firefox, Safari, Edge, Brave, Opera, and Vivaldi.
Is any data collected?
No. The bookmarklet runs entirely in your browser. It only loads a tiny SVG image from emoji.findutils.com. We don't track which sites you visit or any personal data.
How it works: The bookmarklet runs a tiny JavaScript snippet that finds all <link rel="icon"> tags on the current page and replaces their href with an emoji.findutils.com URL. If no icon link exists, it creates one. The emoji is served as a lightweight SVG (under 1KB).

Drag, don't click!
Click and hold the button, then drag it up to your bookmarks bar and release. That saves it as a bookmarklet you can use on any site.
